Abstract

Digital transformation in education encourages the development of adaptive curricula that emphasize flexibility, personalized learning, and the use of digital technologies such as online platforms and data-driven learning systems. Adaptive curricula are seen as a strategic response to changes in student characteristics and 21st-century competency requirements. However, in practice, this approach is often technically oriented and has the potential to neglect the dimensions of values, ethics, and the humanization of education. Therefore, a conceptual framework is needed that can balance technological innovation with fundamental educational values. This article aims to analyze the tarbawi principles in the Qur'an as a conceptual basis for the development of adaptive curricula in the era of digital transformation. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, through thematic analysis of verses in the Qur'an related to education, human development, and the learning process, as well as dialogue with contemporary curriculum discourse and instructional design. The results of the study show that the Qur'an contains tarbawi principles that are relevant to the development of adaptive curricula, including the principle of tadarruj or gradual learning as reflected in QS. Al-Isrā': 106, recognition of the nature and diversity of students' potential (QS. Ar-Rūm: 30), and the principle of balance between intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions in education (QS. Al-Qaṣaṣ: 77). These principles provide an ethical and humanistic framework for digital instructional design, particularly in the formulation of learning outcomes, adaptive learning strategies, and fair and process-oriented assessments. This article concludes that the integration of Qur'anic tarbawi principles in adaptive curricula can strengthen the direction of digital transformation in education so that it is not only technologically innovative, but also oriented towards the formation of well-rounded and sustainable human beings.
